Faith Child headlines 'RIOT AID'

On Sunday 18th October, Faith Child headlined Croydon Advertiser's post-riot music fundraiser 'RIOT AID' at Scream Lounge. The free event raise over £500 which was donated to Croydon Youth Development Trust, a charity which aims to provide activities and support for the borough's young people. The organisation was chosen in light of last August's riots that left Croydon in flames, in the hope the community can look forward and build something positive from the destruction.

Organisers Rob Garratt and Gareth Davies said: "The response to our call for bands and acts to perform for free at Riot Aid has been fantastic. A lot of talented people have jumped at the chance to do something positive in the wake of last month's riots.Topping the bill is Faith Child, who was nominated for Best Gospel Act at last year's prestigious Music of Black Origin (MOBO) awards for his unique gospel-enthused rap. We hope the event shows the strength of community spirit and highlights what makes Croydon worth caring about."

Faith Child was featured in FOUR consecutive issues of the Croydon Advertiser, and had an amazing review of his performance. A great testament of Matthew 5:16 "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." It's time to shine our light in this dark world and be that difference! 

Faith said "It's a great honour to be recognised in ones Borough, so I was thrilled at the opportunity to headline the gig. What was more exciting was the fact that I was the only the Gospel artist on the line up! It great to be able to take the Good News beyond the four walls of the church and to the people who need it. The solution to the riots that took place can all be found in the Bible, with simple principles like 'Love your neighbour as yourself'. Unity is definitely key in our communities and nations. I'm all for the community and if we all work together we can change the world, one person at a time!"
